Examples of Jesus making it hard for people to follow him

Luke 9:57-62 As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, “I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.”
Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
He said to another, “Follow me!”
But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”
But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce God’s Kingdom.”
Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.”
But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God’s Kingdom.”

Luke 14:33 So therefore whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.

Luke 18:22  . . . You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.

John 6:53, 60, 66 Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves. . . . Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?” . . . At this, many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
