Jesus Predicts his Suffering

Luke 5:35 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast in those days.

Luke 9:22 saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”

Luke 9:43-45 They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples, “Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.” But they didn’t understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

Luke 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

Luke 13:32-33 He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission. Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.’

Luke 17:25 But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
