In Matthew 18:21-35 Jesus tells a parable in which the debt representing your offense against God how much your sin cost him, and how much you owe him is a colossal sum, more than half a million times bigger than the sizable, but much more manageable, debt representing your enemys offense against you. It sure doesnt feel that way. Thats because we are so hardened and blinded by our own sin, and so self-centered that we cannot grasp how atrocious we have been, and how much we have hurt God. The more we see how things truly are, the easier it is to forgive, and hence enjoy the matchless peace that forgiving brings.
