| For others, what creates unease is specifically thinking of God as a father. Obviously, this stems from difficulties in their relationship with their earthly father, but not always because he treated them harshly. Other possibilities include feeling abandoned by their father, or because he acted inappropriately sexually toward them, or solely because of how he treated their mother or their siblings, or simply because he was unreliable, or emotionally cold, or had other character flaws.
