I am the CEO for Woronora General Cemetery and Crematorium Trust. We are a Crown Land Trust operating since 1895 in the Southern part of Sydney, Australia.
I am looking at the potential of creating a special place in the cemetery which will provide a place of reflection for those grieving from miscarriage.
A granite feature in the middle of the garden will have the poetry, and we will label the special area The Garden of Angels. We will put the words onto special sealed glass which is a new product with an extremely long life span, potentially centuries. The glass with the words will then go onto a granite statue of an angel which is being set up in the middle of the garden, with seating around the garden edges for people to sit and reflect.
In terms of my personal circumstances, I am able to relate to your friend's loss, which is a motivator to me to provide a place for reflection. My late wife went through miscarriage, and she coordinated a special church service where those in the community were invited to deal with their own grief.
