Lord, let me be blunt. You arent being fair. You wouldnt forgive me if I had the attitude of the person Im so angry with. So why should I forgive him? He hasnt asked my forgiveness. He hasnt shown the slightest regret. He wont even admit hes done anything wrong. You wouldnt forgive me if I acted like that. How can you expect me to be more forgiving than you? Admittedly you didnt strike me dead when I sinned the first time . . . or the second . . . or the hundredth . . . or the ten thousandth time. And you didnt stop loving me. And you didnt wait until I repented before you died for me. And you havent asked me to be crucified for him. Wow! To die in agony out of love for him while hes spitting on me . . . I guess Im getting out of this rather lightly. And my forgiveness doesnt change the fact that its still up to him to repent or hell suffer eternally for his actions.
