Hypocrisy is having the audacity to want the Holy Judge to defile himself with double standards. It is expecting God to treat our enemies by a different standard to how he treats us. Our hypocrisy, however, will never turn God into a hypocrite. I have seen resentment written this way: re-sent-ment. To send back what was sent to you makes you as guilty as the other person, thus rendering you worthy of the same divine judgment.
