Deuteronomy 6:14-15 You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are around you; for the Lord your God among you is a jealous God; lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 11:26-28 Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you today, to go after other gods, which you have not known.
Joshua 24:20 If you forsake the Lord, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after he has done you good.
2 Kings 17:35-39 with whom the Lord had made a covenant, and commanded them, saying, You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them; but you shall fear the Lord, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him. The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forever more. You shall not fear other gods. You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods. But you shall fear the Lord your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
Jeremiah 25:6-11 and dont go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and dont provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no harm. Therefore the Lord of Armies says: Because you have not heard my words, behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says the Lord, and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations. Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp. This whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
Jeremiah 35:15,17 I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and dont go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me. . . . therefore the Lord, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered.
