Having a Divinely Ordained Prominent Position in the Body of Christ does Not Mean Prominence in Gods AffectionsA baby is useless when it comes to helping its parents with household chores or contributing to family finances. Physically, it is nothing but a continual drain on its parents and yet that baby is loved and treasured just as much as when it becomes a highly capable adult. The brutal truth is that the Omnipotent Lord needs no-ones help. He loves us not because he needs our help but simply because he loves us. He treasures us for who we are, not for what we do. He longs for our companionship, not our labor. The Bible is emphatic that God assigns people significantly different gifts and roles in the body of Christ (Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-30). Having a more prominent position in the body of Christ, however, does not mean having a more prominent place in Gods affections. In fact, those who have been given more will be judged more severely:
Luke 12:48 . . . From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded . . .
James 3:1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
