His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate, rubbing them in their hands. But some of the Pharisees said to them, Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath day? Luke 6:6-7,11 It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered. The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him. . . . But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus. Luke 13:10-11,13-14 He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day. 11 Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years . . . He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God. The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!
Luke 14:1-4 When he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching him. Behold, a certain man who had dropsy was in front of him. Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath? Matthew 12:13-14 Then he told the man, Stretch out your hand. Luke 7:34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners! Others said, These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isnt possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?
Note how the second half of the last quote seems to indicate that some genuinely believed Jesus was demon-possessed and isinsane.
