Being Kind to Ones EnemiesMatthew 5:43-48 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Dont even the tax collectors do the same? If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Dont even the tax collectors do the same? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. Luke 6:27-28 But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. Luke 23:34 Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they dont know what they are doing. Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots. Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless, and dont curse. 1 Corinthians 4:13 Being defamed, we entreat. . . . 1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all. 1 Peter 3:9 not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.
